Today I would like to share something very helpful that can help correct forward head posture.
Forward head posture is when an individual isn’t pushing their whole body forward but they hold their head past the midline of their body.
Every inch your head goes forward, there’s an incredible amount of tension added to the upper a part of your neck. An issue with the upper a part of the neck can result in all forms of different issues.
Forward head posture may cause:
• Headaches
• Insomnia
• Neck pain
• Dizziness
• POTS
• Stiffness
• Constant tension
Compression injuries to an individual’s head, akin to falling in your head or having something fall in your head, may cause forward head posture.
Tailbone injuries and whiplash injuries also can cause forward head posture. Even sitting behind a desk at a pc for long periods can result in this issue.
The right way to fix forward head posture:
1. The Jefferson curl
Step 1. Curl your head forward as much as possible
Step 2. Curl your mid-back forward and begin to the touch your toes, bending your lower back
Step 3. Over time, hold weights to assist increase the flexibleness and strength of your spine
2. Use a cervical traction device
• Use this device a couple of half hour before bed for five to 10 minutes
3. Do neck strengthening exercises
• Get on all fours and do extension-type exercises
• Get in your back and do flexion-type exercises
