More Details About This Video:
Steps is usually a scary place when your balance will not be good. It could actually be even scarier when you could have a leg injury. When going up and down the steps with a leg injury, you desire to use your strong side to do many of the work. Within the rehab setting we now have many sayings to aid you remember what to do. “Up with the great, down with the bad” is my favorite. One other helpful one is “Good goes to heaven (up), bad goes to hell (down).”

When going up the steps, you desire to step up along with your unhurt side so you may power yourself up. That is using a “step to” approach where each foot touches each step. If you end up taking place, you desire to lead along with your injured side. It is because when taking place, the leg staying on the step is doing all of the work. It’s the one lowering you down.

It is so simple as that! Take your time and be protected!
